Import Exchange Relocation Approved In Mokena

MOKENA, IL — Import Exchange will moving to a new location in Mokena after its special use permit and site plan was approved at the Jan. 13 village board meeting. The used car dealership is currently located at 9750 W. 191st St., but will now relocate to 19118 S. 104th Ave.

According to board documents, the special use permit was required, since it is a motor vehicle sales facility in the I-1, light industrial district.

Waiel Issa, the owner of Import Exchange, purchased the former Super Wash property with plans to relocate his business there, board documents state. Issa plans to repurpose the building by using it for a sales office, with a detail bay and service repair bays.

The planning commission unanimously recommended the special use permit.

According to board documents, remodeling will begin soon and the dealer should be open this spring.
