Local 'Celebrities' Will Sling Drinks for Charity

New Lenox mayor, police chief, clerk and Will County board member will bartend Nov. 24 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Local leaders and officials will step behind the bar Tuesday for a good cause.

New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann, Police Chief Bob Sterba, Clerk Laura Ruhl, and Will County Board Member Ray Tuminello will serve as guest bartenders to raise funds for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties. New Lenox Patch Editor Lauren Traut will also pour suds.

Stop by Gatto’s 1938 E. Lincoln Hwy from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 24 to catch the special appearances. All cash tips go toward matching at-risk youth with a role model.

As part of the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across throughout Will County, Grundy County, Kankakee County and Iroquois County in Illinois

“Each time Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs a child with a role model, we start something incredible: a one-to-one relationship built on trust and friendship that can blossom into a future of unlimited potential,” according to the website.
