Two Mokena small businesses - jean lachat photography and The Talking Shirt - have teamed up this Mother’s Day as sponsors for a photography event to benefit the Mokena charity, “My Joyful Heart.”
“Mama & Me” celebrates a mother’s love for her children through lifestyle portrait mini-sessions on Sunday, May 1st from 3 - 7PM at jean lachat photography, 11210 Front Street in Mokena.
All session fees from the event ($75/each) will be donated to My Joyful Heart in Mokena, which provides basic necessities to children in the Chicagoland area.

“I am looking forward to one of my favorite days of the year – Mother’s Day, and honoring those very special relationships with my photography,” said Jean Lachat, owner of jean lachat photography. “I believe in the mission of My Joyful Heart, and I am thrilled to have a chance to help such a special organization.”
Through their co-sponsorship, jean lachat photography and The Talking Shirt hope to raise a minimum of $1,000 on May 1st.

Mama & Me participants will not only receive a unique photography session, but also the added benefits of a complimentary 5x7 professional print, a $20 gift card to The Talking Shirt, a chance to purchase unique photo gift items and complimentary snacks and beverages the day of the event.
At the urging of another local business owner and participant in the event, Tracy Yeatts of Mokena, the Mama & Me event will also feature a raffle to win prizes donated by other local businesses. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to My Joyful Heart as well.
