Mayors Foundation Donates To Local Charities

Mokena Mayor Frank Fleischer presented stipends to several local charities during a recent village meeting.

MOKENA, IL - A number of local charities will benefit from the Mokena Mayors Charitable Foundation and proceeds that were raised through the Mokena Mayors Charity Golf Outing. Mokena Mayor Frank Fleischer provided checks to some of the organizations during a village meeting on Nov. 15. Stipends ranged from $200 to $4,000.

Recipients included the Mokena Marley FISH organization, the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center, Girl Scout Service Unit 41, Mokena Senior Citizens, Boy Scout Troop 40, Boy Scout Troop 725, Cub Scout Pack 39, the Mokena Women’s Club, the Mokena Cancer Support Center, Lincoln-Way Special Recreation, the Journey Pregnancy and Life Hub and My Joyful Heart.

Funds were also provided at the meeting to the Scholarship Fund, which annually awards three $1,000
scholarships to Mokena area citizens pursuing a college degree. Additionally, money was set aside for U.S. savings bonds for selected participants in the annual Student Government Day hosted by the Village.
