Memorial Day Ceremony Planned in Mokena
Seven new names will be added to the William Martin Post 725 Memorial Wall after a procession that will stop at three cemeteries.

MOKENA, IL -- A "VFW Memorial Day Remembrance" is planned on Memorial Day in Mokena. The event, which is open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at William Martin VFW Post # 725 at 19852 S. Wolf Road. It will begin with a procession at St. Mary's Cemetery.
The procession will begin at St. Mary's and also stop at Pioneer Cemetery and St. John's Cemetery before making its way to the VFW hall.
At the hall, there will be performances by local school bands and a presentation by students from the All About Music & Children's Theatre.

A dedication ceremony will begin at 1 p.m., when seven new names will be added to the William Martin Post 725 Memorial Wall.
Names to be added will be Martin E. Crane, Lendon R. Davis, Andrew Harr, Walter (Sparky) Hentsch, Allan F. (Arnie) Lawson, Richard P. Quarles and Tony Schramm.

The Mokena Public Library will host a separate event called "A Day to Remember"two days before the holiday.
