Mokena Board Adopts Food Truck Ordinance

The ordinance goes into effect on June 27.

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena village board has adopted an ordinance addressing mobile food vendors and vehicles after six months of discussion. The board approved the ordinance at its May 28 meeting.

The village said the ordinance includes restrictions on location, parking, circulation and frequency of use. Mobile food vendors will be required to obtain an annual business license from the village, as well as a mobile food vendor permit for each event they service. Certain exemptions will be allowed for mobile food vendors operating as part of a special event.

The ordinance goes into effect on June 27.
