Mokena Creamery to Stay Open for the Winter

Mokena Creamery fans, rejoice! Your local favorite will stay open through the winter.

The ice cream shop, 19000 Wolf Rd., was set to close for the season on Sunday, but owner Jillian Hersted decided not to board up, even as the cold is sure to come.

“We have decided that the Mokena Creamery will be OPEN ALL WINTER,” staff wrote on the Creamery’s Facebook page. ”YES, Creamery fans, no need to miss Turtle Sundaes, Blasters, Rainbow Cones, Sloppy Joes or Weenie Wednesday this Winter...”

The Creamery will maintain daily hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.  (And yes, they still have Rainbow Cone.)
