Mokena Dentist Participates In Free Dentistry Day

MOKENA, IL -- A Mokena dentist took part in Free Dentistry Day last month and ended up providing free oral health care worth more than $11,000. Dr. Stephen Jarvie and his team of doctors and staff at Mokena Crossings Family Dental offered the service on Sept. 22, which was designated as Free Dentistry Day in the country.

"We are very pleased with the success of this event,” Jarvie said. “Unfortunately, many people do not see a dentist on a routine basis. We were honored to open our doors to those in our community and volunteer our time and resources to make sure they received the care they need and deserve.”

In all, 31 people received the free care from Jarvie and his team on Free Dentistry Day, a program initiated to provide dental care to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. The services included free cleanings, fillings and extractions.
