Mokena Educational Foundation Awards LWC Scholarships

Former Mokena 159 students receive scholarships for post-high school studies

The Mokena Educational Foundation presented scholarships to four past Mokena159 students at the LWC scholarship night.

Julia Roessler is interested in pursuing engineering, with a specific focus on renewable and alternative energies. She enjoys drawing, painting, photography, and participating in water and snow sports. At Lincoln-Way Central, she is involved in Key Club and Mathletes.

Julia Signorelli plans to major in International Business. Her hobbies include writing her novel (which she already has an editor for), playing the piano, and volunteering. She is involved with varsity swimming, varsity water polo, International Club, Pi Sigma Pi, Mu Alpha Theta, Delta Epsilon Pi at LWC.

Dominic Terrones will study Computer Science Engineeting at Stanford University. He has been heavily involved in Boy Scouts, Marching Knights, Wind Ensemble, Mu Alpha Theta, and Tri-M Music Honors Society. He also is involved with Link Crew, National Honor Society, Robotics Club, and Student Council. Dominic is an Illinois State Scholar, a AP Scholar with Distinction, National Hispanic Scholar, and a Voice of Democracy essay finalist.

Jessica Bowers plans to double major in Neuroscience and and Spanish at either Dominican University or Carthage College. At LWC, she is involved with Key Club, Robotics Club, National Honors Society, Link Crew, Spanish Honors Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. She volunteers frequently and is excited to begin the next chapter of her life.
