Mokena Man Killed In I-294 Wreck
Eric Erstrom, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-car crash on I-294 Saturday.
MOKENA, IL -- A Mokena man died Saturday after the car he was driving was involved in a three-car crash on Interstate 294. Eric Erstrom, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 3:30 p.m., according to a report from The Herald-News.
Authorities have stated Erstrom was driving his SUV at a high rate of speed in the southbound lanes of the expressway when he sideswiped another vehicle. The SUV then lost control, traveled into the northbound lanes and hit a third car there. Erstrom's car then rolled over onto its roof.
The driver of the third car suffered minor injuries in the crash.
