Mokena Mayor Taken To Hospital Following Fall At Home: Officials

Mokena Mayor Fleischer fell at his home Friday and was taken to a hospital for testing, Village officials said.

MOKENA, IL — Mokena Mayor Frank Fleischer fell at his home Friday morning and was taken to a hospital for testing, according to a news release from the Village of Mokena.

Village officials said they would provide updates "when appropriate and more information is available."

Village Administrator John Tomasoski said Fleischer was resting and working with medical staff.

"He's doing very good," Tomasoski said.

Tomasoski told Patch that the Village felt the news release was necessary because of rumors on social media that exaggerated the extent of Fleischer's injuries.

"There's all kinds of weird little things out there that about this already that I believe have no bearing on the truth anymore," Tomasoski said.

"The Fleischer family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time," noted the release from the Village.
