Mokena Mayors Foundation Donates To Charities
A number of organizations received donations as high as $3,000 from the Mokena Mayors Charitable Foundation.

MOKENA, IL - The Mokena Mayors Charitable Foundation handed out its annual stipends to local charities, civic groups and charitable causes during a village board meeting earlier this month. Mayor Frank Fleischer presented checks to a number of organizations on behalf of The Mokena Mayors Charitable Foundation.
The checks ranged in amount from $100 to $3,000, according to a news release from the village of Mokena. Recipients included the Mokena Marley FISH organization, the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center, Girl Scout Service Unit 41, Mokena Senior Citizens, Boy Scout Troop40, Boy Scout Troop 725, Cub Scout Pack 39, the Mokena Woman’s Club, the Mokena Cancer Support Center, Lincoln-Way Special Recreation, the Journey Pregnancy and Life Hub, Mokena Miracles, the Mokena D.A.R.E. Program, One Love Global Wellness Foundation, and My Joyful Heart.
The funds were raised through proceeds from the Mokena Mayors Charity Golf Outing earlier this year.

According to the village, the Mayors Charitable Foundation was formed in 1991 by former Mayor Ron Grotovsky. In the 28 years of its existence, it has donated more than $340,000 to local charities, civic groups and charitable causes.
