Mokena Students enjoy STEM Family Night

Hosted by the Mokena Educational Foundation and DuPage Children's Museum

Over a hundred people flowed into Mokena Elementary School on Thursday, October 4th for the 1st Annual STEM Family Night. This event was hosted by the Mokena Educational Foundation and the DuPage Children’s Museum. STEM Family Night was a time for students grades K-5 to experience science and math together with their parents and other family members. This night featured glowing pickles, pinwheels, bubbles filled with carbon dioxide, and many other hands-on activities.

Chris Barry, STEM Specialist & School Programs Manager, told us “We love to do these STEM Nights out in the communities. They are a great way for students and their parents or caregivers to experience STEM activities in a relaxed, fun environment. A huge part of the Museum's mission is to foster the adult-child relationship in the learning process, so it's always great to see children and their adults engaging together at these events”.

Mokena Elementary and Intermediate School students loved coming together after school with their families for such a fun and educational event.
