Mokena's Parkway Tree Program Again Splits Cost To Plant New Trees
Residents cover one half to plant new trees, Village covers the rest. Applications due April 10.
MOKENA, IL — Mokena residents looking to add new trees in parkways near their property again have an opportunity to split the cost with the Village.
The 50/50 Parkway Tree Program is open to those wishing to plant new trees in parkways adjacent to their property where trees have not previously existed.
Under this program, the resident pays half the cost for a nursery contractor to supply, deliver, plant, and mulch a new parkway tree. The Village pays the other half.

Trees offered are listed below. All are $165.
- Shumard Oak
- Sterling Silver Linden
- Northern Catalpa
- Hackberry
- Espresso Kentucky Coffee Tree
- Ivory Silk Lilac
- Hybrid Elm
Trees will be planted early-May and early-June depending on the nursery contractor's schedule.
