NAWS Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Pastel

Pastel was found as a stray and rescued from a local animal control to prevent euthanasia.

MOKENA, IL — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at NAWS Humane Society of Illinois. This week's 'Adoptable Pet' is Pastel, who is available for adoption at the humane society.

Pastel is a 2-year-old black and white, female domestic shorthair cat. The society said she was found as a stray and rescued from a local animal control to prevent euthanasia.

Pastel came to the rescue scared and shy, and it has taken time for her to trust, but the society said she has made great progress. She now seeks out attention, greets people near her tower and enjoys being held.

Pastel likes to be petted (ear, neck and chin scratches are her favorites) and will also roll on her back for belly rubs. The society said she loves to play with her toys and will entertain herself.
