Noonan Academy Competes in Providence Academic Bowl

Noonan Academy sends close to thirty students to compete in the 19th annual Providence Academic Bowl

On Saturday, November 2nd , Noonan Elementary Academy participated in the Providence Catholic High School 19th annual Academic Bowl. The Academic Bowl consisted of over three hundred 7th and 8th-grade students hailing from 18 different public and private schools. The students competed individually and as a team in the following areas: Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Geography. Of the 18 schools that participated, Noonan took 4th place in the 8th-grade team category receiving 4 individual trophies and our 7th-grade team received one individual trophy.

Noonan individual trophy winners are Hanna Winkleman (7th grade) -3rd Place Social Studies, Jacob Glennon (8th grade) -1st Place in Geography, Luke Hague (8th grade) -1st Place in Social Studies, and Erin Thompson (8th grade) – 5th Place in Language Arts.

Noonan had close to thirty 7th and 8th grade students come together to showcase their many talents. “We work harder at the Academy, but the results are well worth it,” Dunn said.

The 7th-grade team consisted of Aleksader Aguilar, Gabriella Cox, Sydney DeProfio, Matthew Huguelet, Sophia Leverett, Cassidy Lloyd, and Hanna Winkleman. The 8th-grade team consisted of grace Andrews, Joey Armbruster, Sophia Bader, Joseph Burchett, Asha Garrett, Jacob Glennon, Luke Hague, Madison Hudek, Artur Krutul, Shealagh Littleton, Sophie Mastro, Angie Mastro, Ashley Miller, Isabella Morey, Annie Simon, Erin Thompson, and Niko Valentini.

Noonan Elementary Academy is an independent Catholic school in Mokena serving preschool through 8th grade.
