Noonan Elementary Academy is an independent Catholic school in Mokena serving preschool through 8th grade. During the Lenten season the Academy ran two service initiatives to benefit local and global families with food needs. Their Catholic Relief Services “Rice Bowls” project ran the entirety of Lent and brought in $365.07 to be used to assist with food hunger overseas. During the last few weeks of Lent the Academy held a friendly competition between their two buildings, and by homeroom in their Jr. High, to see who could bring in the most non-perishable food items. Over 2,200 items were brought in to benefit the Frankfort Township Food Pantry. The Jr. High brought in the majority of the items and Mr. Gianotti’s 7th grade homeroom won overall by bringing in 625 items. They were recognized by Gianotti for their effort and given the ability to pick their seats for the rest of the school year.

Noonan provides its students with a rigorous and innovative educational program that is academically challenging and personally supportive. Noonan is committed to developing the full potential of each student by fostering intellectual development, strong character formation, and spiritual growth. Scholarships are available; please contact Mr. Dunn, Principal of Noonan Elementary Academy, for more information. www.noonanacademy.org
