Noonan Academy No Longer Mandating Universal Masking
Noonan Academy issues statement regarding new CDC guidance

Noonan Elementary Academy is an independent Catholic school in Mokena serving preschool through 8th grade.
Principal Joseph Dunn issued the following statement regarding the start of Noonan's 2021 academic year:
Our first day of school, August 16th, is approaching quickly; make sure you are enjoying your last weeks before school begins with your family. Here at Noonan, we are in the final stages of cleaning, maintaining, and getting everything ready for the best school year ever.
Last week the CDC issued new guidance for school operations in regards to COVID-19. These guidelines were adopted by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education. In review of the new guidelines, Noonan Academy will no longer be mandating universal masking of students and staff, with the exception of transportation. If you wish your child to wear a mask while attending Noonan Academy, please contact me so I can ensure we enforce your wish.
Please understand, we will continue to lead the way in keeping your children safe and will be continuing other mitigation strategies such as: social distancing, employing professional cleaners, hand, work place, and common area sanitized daily, and many other strategies in keeping our Noonan community safe. I understand that conditions may change at any moment, I will be in communication with the Public Health Department along with the Diocese of Joliet and finally local and state departments for the latest information.
