Noonan Academy Standout Student of the Week

Emily Dinverno is a 5th grader at Noonan Elementary Academy in Mokena and has been selected by her teacher, Ms. Malin, as this week's Standout Student. Congratulations Emily and to the Dinverno family.

What is one essential you must have when studying?
Essentials that I must have when studying is a nice sturdy table and water

What do you like to do when not in school or studying?
I like to do hand sewing, crafting stuff, and junk journaling

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a famous singer; open my own café in Paris; host a talk show; and to design clothes

What are some of your favorite songs?
“I Will Always Love You”, by Dolly Parton, also sung by Whitney Houston. “Champion” by Carrie Underwood. Hail Mary Gentle Woman and “Something Wild” featuring Lindsey Stirling.

What is one thing people don’t know about you?
That I can draw really good, I can sing a song by anyone else’s voice, and that I like antiques

Who do you look up to and why?
Other than my family, or teachers, I look up to Dolly Parton because from a country girl she grew up to be one of the most successful country singers, and she loves God too

What do you keep under your bed?
Nothing

Who is your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher is Mr. Evers, because he makes jokes during class. But, I love all my teachers equally. They are kind and caring

What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class in Literature because I like reading and Ms. Malin is a great teacher. Science is also interesting, and I like Mrs. Kimak’s teaching

What is one thing that stands out about your school?
One thing that stands out about my school is that they teach about God in every class and that we have Mass on Fridays

What extracurricular(s) do you wish your school had?
I wish the school had Mathletes, cheerleading, craft club, sewing club, and reading club

What is your morning routine?
Get up, make my bed, brush my teeth, get dressed, go downstairs, eat breakfast, get in car to go to school, hug mom, get her blessing, and go to class

If you could change one thing about your school, what would it be?
I would not change anything. I like school how it is

What is your favorite thing to eat at lunch?
A burger or hotdog and chips, green beans, and apple juice

What is your best memory from school?
When I took pictures with my brother for picture day
