Noonan Academy Student Council’s Service Project Benefits Veterans

Noonan Academy students focused on the Catholic Pillar of Almsgiving with their Lenten Service Project

For their Lenten Service Project this year, the Noonan Academy Student Council chose to help those who gave of themselves for us. For forty days the Noonan Academy community came together to collect toiletry items for the men and women who live in the Manteno Veterans’ Home. Each week there was a different focus, from tooth care to grooming and everything in between. This allowed Noonan families the opportunity to live out the Catholic pillar of "Almsgiving" during Lent in a small and tangible way, one item at a time.

Student Council advisor, Mrs. Gray, said, “Noonan Academy was blessed this year to be able to help our Veterans with this Lenten Service Project, which provided them with many needed items.” The items collected will supply each Veteran with necessary toiletry items in addition to having a stock for future needs.
