Noonan Elementary Academy places second in Annual Junior High Academic Bowl

Noonan Elementary Academy competes in annual academic bowl

On October 1, 2016, Noonan Elementary Academy’s seventh and eighth graders spent their Saturday morning competing at the 16th Annual Junior High Academic Bowl held at Providence Catholic High School. There were 21 Chicago-land Junior High schools competing in the subjects of Language Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Mathematics, and Geography. The students took multiple-choice tests in their designated subject area and awards were presented to the top individuals and overall teams.

The Noonan Elementary Academy Academic Team brought home 6 individual trophies. Seventh grade award winners were Brendan Born (1st Place in Social Studies), Nicholas Leese (4th Place in Language Arts), and Abigail Manos (5th Place in Language Arts). Eight grade award winners were Tim Szarzynski (1st Place in Social Studies), Jack Bruno (5th Place in Geography), and Bobby Ronspies (5th Place in Math). Additionally, Noonan’s eighth grade team won second place overall.
