Noonan Elementary Academy Takes First at Academic Bowl
7th and 8th graders competed in the Providence Catholic High School Academic Bowl
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024 Noonan Elementary Academy participated in the Providence Catholic High School Academic Bowl. The Academic Bowl consisted of over two hundred 7th and 8th-grade students hailing from more than 16 different public and private schools. The students competed individually and as a team in the following areas: Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Geography. “I could not be prouder as I watched Noonan receive six trophies that evening,” said Mr. Joseph Dunn, Principal of Noonan. Of the schools that participated, Noonan took 1st place in the 8th-grade team category receiving three individual trophies and our 7th-grade received two individual trophies.
Noonan individual trophy winners were Andrew Lacny, 2nd Place Geography (7th Grade), Graysen Pionke, 3rd Place Language Arts (7th Grade), Antonio Gutierrez de Velasco, 1st Place Geography (8th Grade), Genevieve McCarty, 2nd Place Language Arts (8th Grade), and Raymond Sikora, 1st Place Science (8th Grade).
Noonan had twenty 7th and 8th grade students come together to showcase their many talents. “We work harder at the Academy, but the results are well worth it,” Dunn said.

The 7th-grade team consisted of Sawyer Aceves, Andrew Lacny, Isabelle Markionni, Emmaline Mueller, Anais Nunnally, Mary Oshokoya, Graysen Pionke, Michael Stefancic, and Amelia Welch. The 8th-grade team consisted of Ella Dahlman, Antonio Gutierrez de Velasco, Genevieve McCarty, Ashika Patel, Kacper Rzadkosz, Raymond Sikora, Reid Sikora, Abdallah Sweis, Noah Sweis, Mariano Valentini, and Zachary Welch.
