Obituary: Corrie Nellie DeKoning (née VanderLinden)

A memorial service and Celebration of Life for Corrie Nellie DeKoning (née VanderLinden), a resident of Monee, Illinois, USA will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, June 1, 2018 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 13350 S. LaGrange Rd., Orland Park, Illinois, USA 60462. The family will greet guests from 3:30-5:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 5:00pm. A private dinner will follow.

Mrs. DeKoning passed away Sunday, May 27 at Palos Hospital in Palos Heights, Illinois, USA. Corrie DeKoning (Nellie) was born August 7, 1931 in Bandung, Indonesia (formerly Netherlands East Indies). She was united in marriage to Josephus Bernardus (Joe, or in The Netherlands- “Adé”) DeKoning on September 14, 1954 in The Hague, The Netherlands. Joe, Nellie and their eldest son, Bernard Lambert (Ben) immigrated to the United States in December 1956.

She is survived by her husband, Joe (or Adé); their four children, Bernard Lambert (Sonia), Ellen McGill (Randall), Linda Helene Watson (John William) and Margaret Josephine DeKoning (Ken Konecki) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins both in the United States and The Netherlands. She will be dearly missed.
