Obituary: Danny P. Gallagher

Lifelong Joliet resident passes away at age 63.

Danny P. Gallagher

Age 63, of Joliet, Illinois, passed from this life Friday evening, July 3, 2026 after a brief battle against cancer.

He was born on April 1, 1963 to the late Donna and Thomas B. Gallagher in Joliet, where he was raised and educated. He was a graduate with the class of 1981 from Joliet West High School.

On St. Patrick's Day in 2004, he married Angela Johns. Together, they enjoyed two decades of love and devotion.

In addition to Angela, his beloved wife of 22 years, he is also survived by step-daughters, Amanda (Bob) Luciano and Ashley Ward; grandchildren, Ronan and Aria Luciano; brother, Tom (Rosita) Gallagher; brother-in-law, Kevin Johns; sister-in-law, Janet (Jerry) Kust; step-mother-in-law, Carol Johns, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Janice McGowan; father-in-law, Lawrence Johns; and his brother-in-law, David Johns.

Danny was employed by Valto (formerly Crane Composites/Kemlite) of Channahon where he proudly served over 30 years.

He loved making travel plans, especially some very memorable International Journeys with Angela.He was a talented photographer who was extremely proud of his Irish Heritage.

Visitation for Danny P. Gallagher will be Friday, July 17, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until services begin at 12:00 Noon, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 W. Black Rd (at Essington Rd) Joliet.Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
