Obituary: Douglas L. Dillard Sr.

He cherished his family and will be remembered for his loyalty, strong work ethic, and the connections he built with those around him.

Douglas L. Dillard Sr.

Douglas L. Dillard Sr., age 60, of Crest Hill, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026. He was born on May 23, 1965, in Joliet, to the late Richard and Jean (Luckey) Dillard.

Douglas dedicated 42 years of his life as a material service operator, a role he took great pride in and remained committed to until his passing. He truly loved his work and the sense of purpose it gave him. Outside of work, Douglas enjoyed spending time with friends, especially gathering at the bar where he shared laughs, stories, and companionship. Above all, he cherished time with his family and will be remembered for his loyalty, strong work ethic, and the connections he built with those around him.

He is survived by his loving daughters; Tamela (Geoff) Nickel, and Nicole (Chris) Dillard-Favero; his son, Josh Dillard; his sisters, Cathy Blahut, and Donna (Sonny) Hicks; his brothers, Robert (Trish) Dillard, and Steve Dillard; his grandchildren, Becky, Austin, Alexis, Wyatt and Myles; his great-grandchildren, Jameson and Jaxen Nickel; and his best friend, K-Man.

Douglas is preceded in death by his son, “Bud”; his parents; and his brother, Richard Dillard.

As it was Douglas's request, cremation rites have been accorded.
