Matthew David Crosser, age 42, of Minooka, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026. He was born on August 22, 1984, in Joliet, the son of Jeffrey and Mary (nee Hogue) Crosser.

Matthew grew up in Shorewood and was a graduate of Minooka High School, where he was known for his outgoing personality and love of sports. He was very social and enjoyed being part of the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He later attended and graduated from Illinois State University before beginning a career in sales and marketing.
Matthew had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and snowmobiling. He also had a passion for cars and appreciated the many adventures and experiences that life had to offer. His warm personality, generous heart, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

Big in stature but gentle and loving in spirit, Matthew was an intelligent, kind, and capable man who seemed to be good at everything he put his mind to. Above all else, he cherished being a father to his beloved son, Mason. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his son, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Matthew is survived by his beloved son, Mason Lee Crosser; his parents, Jeffrey and Mary (nee Hogue) Crosser; brother, Jason (Tracie) Crosser; Aunt Jane and Uncle Red Pederson, Aunt Lynn Terrill, and Aunt Virginia Humble; as well as additional aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Thaine and Martha Hogue and Dean and Iva Mae Crosser; aunt and uncle, Marge and Gary Davis; and his cousin, Phillip Davis.
A Memorial Gathering for Matthew David Crosser will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m.As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Cavalier Rescue USA.
