October starts with a bang at Curtain Call's Front Street Theatre
A sold out run of On Golden Pond, Nunsense auditions, and 2 Improv Workshops on Columbus Day for Young Performers!
Curtain Call's Front Street Theatre's third season in Mokena is in full swing and tremendously busy as October begins! With the rousing success of the Summer productions of Singin' in the Rain performed by the Emily McCabe Musical Theatre Program and the sold-out weekend of the Summer Stock production of Urinetown, Curtain Call held auditions for the first fall production of the new season, On Golden Pond.
On Golden Pond is directed by Jaimey Kennedy, who last directed the June production of 12 Angry Jurors. On Golden Pond features the talents of local actors, Renata Allelujka, Nicole Correll, Aidan McGuire, Betsey Manzoni, Mike Naughton, Josh Reid and Peter Simon. On Golden Pond has set a new Curtain Call record for having all 6 performances SOLD OUT ten days before the show opened on September 27th. A remarkable way to kick-off the third season of theatre on Front Street!
As October begins, On Golden Pond will finish it's sold-out run on Sunday, October 7th and on Monday October 8th the theatre will be a hub of activity as our Young Performers will have the opportunity to participate in Improv Workshops. There will be two workshops based on age groups: For 1st – 4th grade, there will be a focus on introductory level improv and playing engaging theatre games. The 1st - 4th grade workshop will be held from 9:00am-12:00pm. The 5th - 8th grade will be delving into intermediate level improv and focusing on technique within an ensemble. The 5th - 8th grade workshop will be held from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
