Original Rainbow Cone Cake Rolls Return To The Creamery

A popular item at The Creamery in Mokena has returned.

MOKENA, IL - A classic treat has returned to The Creamery locations in Mokena, Frankfort and Orland Hills. The Original Rainbow Cone Cake Rolls have been flying off the shelves since owners Jillian Hersted and Jodi McCarthy brought them back to their stores a few months back.

"We are an extension of the South Side," Hersted said, referring to the birth of Rainbow Cone in Chicago's Beverly neighborhood. "A lot of people have moved from the Beverly area out this way, so there are a lot of Original Rainbow fans in our area."

The cake rolls are back for the holiday season for the first time in three years. The treat offers the five flavors of the classic Original Rainbow Cone: Orange Sherbet, Pistachio, Palmer House (New York Vanilla with cherries and walnuts), Strawberry and Chocolate.

"We've had a lot of customers ask about them, so we decided to bring them back," Hersted said.

A 6 Inch serves 6-10 and is $27.99. A 12 Inch serves 20-24 and is $47.99. The treat is also available in pints, quarts, cones and cups.

For the holiday season, the cake rolls will only be available at The Creamery location at 19100 Wolf Road in Mokena. They will return to the locations in Orland Hills and Frankfort when they reopen for the season in April.

Hersted says it's best to call ahead at 708-479-5706 to reserve an order, although the store typically does have a supply on hand.
