Park District Commissioner Resigns After 18 Years
Bagdon, who has served as Commissioner for 18 years, has moved out of state.
MOKENA, IL — Mokena Community Park District Commissioner Dennis Bagdon has resigned after 18 years of serving as Commissioner. Bagdon's resignation was effective Sept. 22.
"The resignation wasn’t a surprise," Executive Director Greg Vitale told Patch. "Mr. Bagdon was in the process of selling his home in Mokena while he builds a new home out of the state. We all knew that this day would come as soon as his house was sold."
Vitale said Bagdon has been instrumental in various park district projects, including the development of the Yunker Farm property, the Oaks Recreation and Fitness Center and the development of several parks.

"Dennis was a fixture at public meetings and at special events. Although he will soon be moving away, he plans to keep in touch with the staff and commissioners. We will be relying on his institutional knowledge for a long time. We wish Dennis the best," Vitale said.
