Michael D. Navratil, 27, of the 19600 block of South 116th Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content over .08 and improper lane usage Sunday, Jan. 23, police said. According to reports, Navratil was stopped after police spotted him driving west in the eastbound lane of traffic.
Navratil failed field sobriety tests and registered a .228 on his breath test. He told officers he was on medication he was not supposed to take while driving and mentioned smoking cannabis.
While he was being booked at the police station, Navratil began to complain of breathing problems and later collapsed. He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital by Mokena Fire Protection District personnel and finished the booking process the next day.
