Driver Charged With DUI Tells Police He's a Vampire

Police charged Brandon Huiner, 26, of the 6200 block of W. 157th Place in Oak Forest, with driving under the influence of alcohol after spotting Huiner's car driving away from 191 South without its lights on, police said. When the officer walked up to the driver's window, he could smell alcohol on Huiner's breath. Huiner said he'd "had a few," but he refused any field or breath tests, saying "my friend's a cop, and he told me not to." When the officer asked Huiner how he intended to show his ability to drive a car after admitting to drinking, Huiner replied, "How do YOU intend to show me?" according to the report. The officer booked Huiner at the Mokena Police Department and told him he needed to take a picture as part of the process. Huiner said he couldn't have his photo taken. When the officer asked why not, Huiner replied, " 'Cause I'm a vampire," and started to laugh. He posted his driver's license and $100 and was released pending a Dec. 1 court date in Joliet.
