Red, White And 'Whew!': Mokena's July 4 Parade Marches On In Heat Between Storms

MOKENA, IL — The storms lifted for long enough—but the heat bore down—as hundreds lined Wolf Road for Mokena's July 4 parade.

It might have been drier, but spectators were left hoping for an occasional breeze as the nearly 80-unit patriotic parade made its way through town. Hours later, the storms circled back, drenching the area.
