Rep. McDermed Hosting Townhall on Graduated Income Tax Proposal

State Rep. McDermed along with Rep. Durkin and Rep. Parkhurst will host a forum on the proposed constitutional amendment

Frankfort, IL… State Representative Margo McDermed (R-Mokena) is hosting a forum on the Governor’s proposed measure to amend the Illinois Constitution to remove the flat tax provision. Rep. McDermed will be joined by fellow Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) and House Republican Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs). In addition, the nonprofit Americans for Prosperity will be there to present on the recent history of the Illinois income tax.

“We are considering amending the Illinois Constitution. This is a huge decision and I want to hear from voters and discuss with them what it means,” Rep. McDermed said. “When I sent out my constituent survey earlier this year, I got a tremendous amount of feedback on this issue. More people want to be informed on the amendment process and the impact this change could have on their families.”

The townhall will be held on Thursday April 25th at 6pm. It will be in the community room of the Frankfort Township Building at 11000 W Lincoln Hwy.
