Service Dog Training Group Seeks Volunteers
Heartland Service Dogs In Mokena Needs Loving People to Volunteer

Heartland Service Dogs, Inc., a Mokena-based nonprofit, is seeking volunteers to help raise puppies for 18 to 24 months to help them become service dogs.
During this time, they attend weekly obedience classes and work on service dog commands that the dogs will need to know for advanced training. Puppy Raisers take the dogs into public settings, such as shopping malls, restaurants, traveling, doctors offices, sporting events, school and many other places. Socialization is critical in raising a working dog.
Heartland Service Dogs aims to improve the lives of adults and children. Heartland breeds and trains their dogs for mobility assistance, hearing alert, diabetic alert, and PTSD.
