Enumerators will be in certain village neighborhoods counting heads over the next month.

MOKENA, IL -- A special census in Mokena will begin Friday and take place over the course of the next month. Enumerators will be out in the village visiting homes in certain neighborhoods until Nov. 6, according to a report from the Daily Southtown.
Head counts will take place in the Bridges of Mokena, Prairie Ridge, Foxborough Estates, Blackthorne Ridge, Boulder Ridge, Whisper Creek, Ginger Creek, Crystal Creek, The Oaks and Sarkis Estates subdivisions as well as Clarendale of Mokena.
Village officials suspect there's been a sharp increase in the population count, from those areas in particular, from the 2010 Census. The total village population that year was counted as 18,740.
