Springtime at Curtain Call's Front Street Theatre
Come to the theatre to escape the cold and snow, Enchanted April will whisk you away to Italy and Who Sings Your Story will warm your heart.
Take a springtime journey to Italy with the cast of Enchanted April at the Curtain Call Front Street Theatre on the weekends of March 2nd and March 9th. Set in post-World War I England, we are introduced to Charlotte Wilton, who upon reading an advertisement for a holiday in Italy is inspired to bring 3 unlikely lady companions on a journey to a castle covered in wisteria and sunshine. This beautiful story brings these women together through love, sisterhood and the promise of a brighter tomorrow filled with enchantment and beauty.
This stellar cast of 8 are all local actors. Jaimey Kennedy from Oak Forest plays Charlotte Wilton and has been an actor and director for many years with Curtain Call. In fact, Jaimey will be the director for Curtain Call’s June production of 12 Angry Jurors, which will audition on April 9th & 10th at the Front Street Theatre. Lynn Meller from Tinley Park plays Rose Arnott, Lynn has been seen in recent productions of Not Now, Darling and Pippin. Lynn will also be seen in the upcoming Spotlight Series – “Who Sings Your Story – An Evening of Music” on March 24th at the Front Street Theatre. Deb Brunette of Park Forest plays the cankerous Mrs. Graves, Deb is a seasoned actor and director and we are pleased to have her making her debut on the Curtain Call stage. Courtne Moran of University Park will be bringing to life the lovely Lady Caroline, Courtne is an accomplished dancer with Ballet 5:8, and we welcome her to our theatre. Jodie Brugler of Frankfort will be portraying Constanza, the feisty Italian housekeeper, Jodie was recently seen in Not Now, Darling, this past June. The females of the cast are rounded out by 3 gentlemen; Dan McGrath of Tinley Park portrays Mellersh Wilton, the solicitor husband of Charlotte, this will be Dan’s 5th show with Director Mark Frost, and his first at Front Street. Rose Arnott’s husband, Fredrick will be played by William Gleason of Palos Heights, Bill was just seen in The 39 Steps where he played multiple hysterical characters. Mr. Wilding, the owner of the beautiful San Salvatore, will be played by newcomer, Joshua Reid of Mokena. Josh has lived just down the street from our new Front Street Theatre, and has now found a new joy in acting.
Directing this beautifully written script, is Mark Frost. This will be Mark’s second production at the Front Street Theatre, having previously directed last spring’s sellout musical of GODSPELL. In addition to being a Curtain Call Board Member, Mark has been a featured actor and singer in recent productions of The 39 Steps, Pippin, and Mousetrap. Mark will also be a featured soloist in the March 24th Spotlight “Who Sings Your Story.”
