Village Of Mokena: Brian Benton Named Interim Police Chief

Former Joliet Police Chief Brian F. Benton has been named Interim Police Chief for the Village of Mokena, effective Monday, August 30. The appointment of Mr. Benton by Mayor Frank Fleischer was formally ratified by the Village’s Board of Trustees at its August 23 regular meeting.

Mr. Benton comes to the Village with a broad wealth of experience in law enforcement and law enforcement management.  Over a 28+ year career with the Joliet Police Department, he rose from the rank of Patrol Officer up through the ranks of the municipal organization, moving into management after seventeen years.  Mr. Benton held the position of Police Chief his final five years on the job, where he managed over 300 employees.
