“Who am I to Judge?” Saint Mary Hosting Free Program Offering Christian Responses to Moral Relativism

“Who am I to judge?” “What is ‘right’ and ‘wrong?’” Saint Mary Mokena will host a free, small-group study program about responding to moral relativism with logic and love this upcoming summer.

The eight-week video program, originally designed by Dr. Edward Sri, a well-known Catholic speaker, author and theologian, is aimed at those wondering how to stand up for their morality, while remaining respectful of others in an increasingly relativistic society.

“Many Christians grapple with the existence of an absolute “right” and “wrong” for everyone in modern society, which espouses the acceptance of differing, often contrasting, views of morality,” says Melissa Novak, Director of Adult Faith Formation at Saint Mary Mokena. “It makes many of us struggle to defend our moral convictions for fear of offending others.”

Novak explains the free program will explore the classical view of morality, emphasizing its application beyond theoretical situations, to one’s entire way of life. “By the end of the program, participants will have a better understanding of how to respectfully explain and defend their Christian morality to others who don’t share that view,” she says.

The program will run on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm between the dates of June 28 and August 16. It will also run on Thursday mornings from 9:30 am to 11:00 am between the dates of June 29 and August 17.

Free babysitting will be available at all sessions, which will be open to the public.
