Wolf Road Buckles Due To Heat Near 191st Street

MOKENA, IL -- A portion of Wolf Road in Mokena buckled due to heat just before the early Thursday evening rush hour, Mokena Police Chief Steve Vaccaro confirmed just before 5 p.m. Cones were placed around a small section of the road that formed a bump and a crack in the pavement.

Traffic backups began as early as 4:15 p.m. in the area near 191st Street. It was not immediately known how long the backups were as of 5 p.m. or the entire scope of the section of road that buckled.

Northbound Wolf Road was closed at 191st Street at that time, Vaccaro said.
