2 Montgomery Pools Reopen After Oswego Police Investigate 'Threat Involving A Public Pool'

MONTGOMERY, IL — Two Montgomery pools were temporarily shut down Friday while Oswego police investigated "a reported threat involving a public pool," officials said Friday.

The Oswegoland Park District closed the Civic Center Aquatic Park and Winrock Pool until about 4 p.m. as a precaution, according to a news release from the Oswego Police Department.

The investigation led Oswego police to identify the suspected caller and speak to the person's family. The call originated within the Kendall County Sheriff's Office's jurisdiction, so Oswego police referred the case to deputies for any additional follow-ups.

When police originally alerted the public at 1:46 p.m., officers said the threat had not been confirmed. Police launched an investigation out of an abundance of caution.

"We appreciated the cooperation and patience of pool staff, patrons, and the community while officers thoroughly investigated the report to help ensure everyone's safety," Oswego police said.
