2 Rescued From Fox River In Montgomery: Police
Both people were taken to a local hospital for evaluation, as a precaution and in accordance with safety protocols, police said.
MONTGOMERY, IL — Two people were rescued Tuesday evening from the Fox River in Montgomery, police said.
A significant police presence responded to the river, near the dam, before 7 p.m. Tuesday, following a report of two people in the water. Officers responded and worked with the Montgomery Countryside Fire Protection District to safely rescue the victims.
Both people were taken to a local hospital for evaluation, as a precaution and in accordance with safety protocols, police said.

"We are grateful for the swift actions of first responders and for the community's cooperation during the incident," officials said. "We also want to remind residents that river conditions—especially near the dam—can be extremely dangerous. Please use caution when near the water."
