2 Trapped In House During Heavy Montgomery Fire: Oswego FD
Oswego fire crews said the cause of the fire doesn't appear to be suspicious, but the fire remains under investigation.
MONTGOMERY, IL — A townhouse in the 200 block of Williamsburg Court in Montgomery caught fire early Monday morning. Two people were trapped on the second floor and had to extricate themselves from windows, according to the Oswego Fire Protection District.
Oswego firefighters were dispatched to the townhouse around 12:45 a.m. after KenCom Public Safety Dispatch received multiple reports of a fire. Crews learned of the two people trapped while en route to the townhouse and were able to arrive within five minutes of the initial dispatch, officials said.
Montgomery police and deputies from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office helped get the two people to waiting ambulances that brought them to a local hospital.

After using an aggressive interior attack to enter the house, fire crews were able to quickly put out the fire, which didn't damage either adjoining townhouse unit, officials said.

No firefighters reported injuries, according to the fire department.
A Plainfield Fire Protection District battalion chief helped on the scene of the Montgomery fire, officials said. While crews were at the site of the fire, the Plainfield, Aurora, Sugar Grove fire protection district helped with Oswego station coverage.
