51 Year Old Sent Sexual Texts to Underage Girl: Police

AURORA, IL — A 51-year-old Aurora man has been arrested after he allegedly sent numerous sexual texts to a 15-year-old girl, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Hugo F. Cruz, 51, of the 800 block of Front Street in Aurora, has been charged with grooming and indecent solicitation of a child, both of which are felonies; and misdemeanor counts of distributing harmful material to a minor and sexual exploitation of a child.

Charging documents indicate between Dec. 25 and Jan. 3, Cruz allegedly sent the girl sexually explicit texts and at least one photo. The victim, with whom Cruz was acquainted, pleaded that he stop. Cruz knew the girl to be under 18 according to the documents, and the messages and photo were distributed for his sexual arousal in an attempt to get the girl to perform sexual acts.

Cruz is currently being held in lieu of $20,000 bail at the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles.
