Couple Charged In Elderly Relative's Death: Sheriff
Criminal neglect charges filed in 66-year-old woman's death.

MONTGOMERY, IL - A Boulder Hill couple faces criminal neglect charges after the death of an elderly relative in December. Jennifer and Craig Ashton, both 42, of the 0-100 block of Amesbury Road, are being held on $75,000 bond in connection with the death of a 66-year-old woman.
Kendall County deputies and the Oswego Fire Protection District were dispatched to the couple's home on Dec. 2, 2016, for a report of an unresponsive woman. Paramedics who arrived determined that the 66-year-old woman was dead, police said.
The Kendall County coroner and Kendall County Sheriff's Office began a joint investigation into the woman's death, police said Tuesday.

The Kendall County State's Attorney's Office approved eight counts of criminal neglect each against Jennifer and Craig Ashton on Monday, and warrants were issued for their arrest. They were later taken into custody at their home.
