Have you ever had that feeling in the pit of your stomach where you weren't sure if you were hungry, sick, excited, or extremely anxious? Well that was me this week. I decided to dip my toes in the water and see what it was like. Needless to say it was freezing!
I decided to try and query a few agents and see what would happen. First of all, a lot of editors really don't want to work with self-publishers. I did, however did get a response from one that seemed promising; she wanted to see the first five pages of The Delivery Girl. Folks, if I judged every book by the first five pages, I'd never read. As you can image, the answer was no.
I know things take time, and most writers have to send query letters to a million different agents to maybe get one interested. My first attitude was to forget the whole thing and then...I think I grew a backbone. I'm not going to let people ruin my dream in life. Somewhere out there is an agent for me. Wish me luck as I start the process again this week!
