Driver Involved In Fatal Montgomery Crash Sought By Police

Local authorities are asking for the public's help to identify a person connected to a fatal crash that occurred last week.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Montgomery police are looking for the public's help in identifying a person involved in a fatal crash that occurred last week.

A pedestrian was struck and killed in the early morning of April 16. The man, who was identified as 40-year-old Chicago resident Javier Diaz, was found near Douglas Road and Seasons Ridge Boulevard.

Diaz was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Authorities are now searching for the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. The car was described as a black 2002 Lexus ES.

Police described the individual as a man in his early 20s with a medium complexion wearing prescription glasses. He has tattoos on his right hand/wrist and forearm.

According to police, a woman with dark skin accompanied him.
