Fugitive, Sex Offender From Montgomery Apprehended

The 21-year-old was arrested on two active warrants.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A Montgomery sex offender wanted on two active warrants for failure to register was apprehended by Aurora police and U.S. marshals on Tuesday.

Shamar Johnson, 21, was apprehended in the 600 block of South River Street in Aurora, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

Police said Johnson had been a fugitive since May 3.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Aurora Police Department without incident.

Kendall County police reports indicate Johnson was arrested Dec. 7, 2017, for failure to register.
