Great teachers give more than grades, they lend a helping hand
John Shields Elementary Benefits From McTeacher's Night
Sugar Grove/ John Shields Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the John Shields PTO.
Teachers, support staff and PTO members from John Shields volunteered behind the counter on Tuesday, September 11, at the Sugar Grove McDonald's located on Rt. 47, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser.
Mrs. Nicole Dyche, Second Grade Teacher, wore an Apple Pie Costume, while Fourth Grade Teacher, Brittany Brown, alongside kindergarten Teacher, Jillian Yaggie, tended the Apple Pie sales during the night.

The proceeds from the 166 Apple Pies sold went directly to benefit the John Shields PTO. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to the John Shields PTO, which plans to put the money in the PTO general funds account.
The Schmitt Family, Owner Operators of the Sugar Grove McDonald's were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.

"Partnering with McDonald's provides us the funding for our teachers so they can improve education for our students," said PTO member Ashley Warfel.
