Gun Investigation Near School Reveals Man Had CC License: Cops

Two men picking their children up from Boulder Hill school got into an altercation in a church parking lot next door, police said.

BOULDER HILL — Kendall County Sheriff's police, along with Oswego and Montgomery police, investigated a report of a man with a gun near Boulder Hill Elementary School Monday afternoon. According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to the school at around 3:40 p.m. after getting a report about a man in the school parking lot with a weapon.

Deputies who arrived did not see any disturbances on school grounds and requested more information from dispatchers, who said the altercation was taking place in a church parking lot next to the school. Deputies quickly located the vehicle described by dispatch and two male subjects.

Investigators determined two men were involved in a verbal altercation while they were picking their children up from Boulder Hill elementary, and one of the men was in possession of a gun. The man also has a valid concealed carry license, police said.

There was no report of shots fired, and police said there is no threat to Boulder Hill Elementary School, students, children or the public.
