Kane County Board Member Dies Unexpectedly

Kane County board and community members were left reeling after learning of the death of board member Jesse Vazquez on Monday night.

Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen notified the board of Vazquez’ passing on Tuesday morning, according to Kane County Connects.

Details on Vazquez’ death were not available Tuesday morning.

Colleagues and coworkers left messages expressing sadness, as well as support for Vazquez’ family, on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

Vazquez, of Montgomery, previously served on Kane County committees including human services, public service, agriculture and legislative.

According to Kane County Connects, Vazquez served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and previously served on the board of directors for the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce as well as the Village of Montgomery Planning Commission.

Vazquez was married to wife Maria; the couple has three children, according to the site.
